A side note about that bug post

Tumblr has a featured tag for #animals. I tagged my last post, about tailless whipscorpions, to be included on that tag. Why? Because insects are animals, too! Don’t forget, if it’s not a plant or fungus and you can see it with your bare eye, there’s a good chance it’s an animal.

Browsing through the #animals tag, I noticed an admirable amount of biodiversity covered - tons of mammals, but also some insects, cnidarians (jellyfish), cephalopods (ocotopuses), reptiles and amphibians. Still, considering mammals make up maybe 3% of all animals and insects represent over 80% of them, I think we can do much better! So, here’s my rallying call: tag all of your posts with animals with the appropriate tag, give some tumblr love to the non-mammalian posters on tumblr, and if you’re an editor for the #animals tag, know this: I will continue passively-aggressively tagging my posts until my voice has been heard!

Aha! Will do! Most of mine are reblogs, though, not sure if that counts…

Tagging a post correctly is hardly passive aggressive. Tagging it “mammals are okay, I guess” is.
