The First Post

Hello!

My name is Jeff, and I’m currently an undergraduate chemistry major at a liberal arts college. After I graduate, I hope to go to graduate school to get my Ph.D. I usually blog here, but I found myself increasingly wanting to tackle science issues on my personal blog. For that reason, I’m excited to launch this blog and write exclusively about science.

Here’s a bit of what to expect. I plan to defend the importance and integrity of science. I’ll probably start out by writing about some of the fundamentals - for example, what does ‘science’ even mean? - and give some background on my personal views. I plan to browse Tumblr and the internet at large, seeking out misinformation and pseudoscience to debunk. I will also post interesting articles and artifacts about science. A pleasant side effect of maintaining this blog will be forcing myself to stay more informed about the scientific community.

Of course, I will be happy to answer any questions you have. I’m open to accepting submissions, should anyone profess interest. My intention is that this blog will be interesting and informative to a lay audience, with the hope of educating people who are curious about science.

And with that, I officially pronounce The Science Center open for business!

(Note - this is a secondary blog, so don’t be offended if I don’t follow back. I should show up as theonlyplfrmat)
