1. I’ll let the experts from the Mayo Clinic answer your question.
2. In short, I think marijuana is obviously misclassified in the US drug schedule (it’s a Schedule 1 drug, meaning it officially has no medical value and high risk of dependence; according to Uncle Sam, methamphetamine has more medical value and lower risk of dependence). Marijuana does have medical benefits, though I think they’re often overstated by enthusiasts. It’s ultimately pretty arbitrary which drugs are legal and which are banned. I mean, imagine if alcohol or tobacco was invented tomorrow - do you think it would have a chance in hell of being approved by the FDA? I think marijuana will eventually be approved for medical use and even possibly decriminalized in most of the US.
3. I’ll pass. I recommend you check out the Wikipedia Simple English article though.
4. No. That’s impossible. I’m skeptical that we’ll ever exert such precise control over human emotions.
5. Yup!
6. Natural selection doesn’t proceed according to Lamarckian principles, i.e. our physiology doesn’t evolve due to use or disuse of a trait or body part. There’s virtually no selective pressure at this point for or against pinky toes, although you’d probably be surprised at the difference having a fifth toe makes. Additionally, since all of our close evolutionary ancestors have five digits, I suspect there are some deep-rooted developmental processes that would have to be disrupted in order for the fifth toe to disappear. Evolution can occur quickly or slowly, but there’s no reason to think that losing our pinky toe is inevitable.
