Happy Holidays from the Science Center!
When you were preparing your holiday meal, you probably asked yourself - I know I did - what have scientists devised as the optimal way to cook a turkey? Some European vets have taken a stab at this question, and tested techniques surgeons use to, say, sew horse’s guts or fix up a cat, on a stuffed turkey. Their rigorous protocol showed that stapling your turkey is the best way to keep all the skin and meat on the turkey, though they warn leaving a staple in the meat is much more dangerous than a suture.
So there you have it! Eat some delicious food, and enjoy your holiday season!
